acceleration problems!!! Fuel Cut?? Boost Leak?

I have a 90' eclipse GSX. I have spent a fortune on this car as i built it from a bare shell. THe car has a fully rebuilt motor, FMIC, K&N filter, BESK, full 2 1/2 exhaust and a few other things done to it. My problem is that once i get the car started it idles fine but if you give it any gas it wants to stall for a second then acclerates. I am not sure what does this. THen today i was driving down my road and every time the car startyed to build up boost(3000-3500rpm) the car would spit and spudder and would want to quit. Not he car wont idle at all and just wantsw to quit unless you give it gas constantly. Any help you could give would be much apprciated!

Should I smell exhaust if its a boost leak? Every time I bog down the turbo, I get flooded with exhaust fumes. Actually, I cant tell if Im smelling exhaust fumes or unburnt fuel, but Im willing to bet its exhaust.

Problem solved: there was a MASSIVE boost leak at the intercooler piping right as it goes by the air can. Also, i lowered the boost just a hair to compensate for the slight increase because im venting correctly now. it made a HUGE difference. Thanks for all the suggestions.

the whining you heard,appeartobelosin, is most likely your fuel pump saying F**K ME. get a new or bigger one.

i know this sounds stupid but it saved me, the intake hose had backed off enough to make me lose the power after 3500 rpms, i rehooked it ansd so far so good. i di get that violent cut of power that they talk about. so scary
