Hey guys. I have searched about this problem and have heard of numerous causes, but I'd like to know what you guys think.
Well, My abs light has been coming on sometimes and then it goes away. I'd say it comes on maybe once a week and stays on for an hour and then goes away. During that time I don't notice anything weird going on. Well, today was different. My abs light came on today and the car was still driving normally. Then after about an hour it went off. Now when I come to slow stops, the abs starts to activate right before I stop. I mean that right at the end of the stop (like at 1 mph) it then start kicking in for no reason. I have heard a little whirring noise coming from the front tire on the right at highway speeds, maybe wheel bearing causing the speed sensor to read incorrect speed???. I'm not sure what it can be. Can anybody steer me in the right direction. Thanks for the help in advance.

I just grounded pin # 1 on the obd2 connector and I get a constant abs light with no blinking at all. Oh, my car is a 1997 btw.

Okay, I checked out all of the wheel speed sensors. The front left, rear left and rear right all have the little magnet really close to the teeth on the axle. It almost looks like it is rubbing on the teeth from the axle. The front right looks as if the speed sensor is being ground away or something. There is a gap between the speed sensor and the teeth from the axle(maybe like 2 milimeters or so); and the other 3 look like there is no gap between them at all. Is there supposed to be a gap between them? Or should they be really close with hardly any gap at all.

I know this isn't what you want to do, but when i have trouble with ABS units on anythgn i own...they come out! If a customer ishaving problems with it... i drink heavily that day LOL

Well, if I lived any closer to nebraska I'd bring you a 24 pack right about now. Do you know the gap that should be between the axle teeth(tone wheel) and the sensor??
