Anyone ever try the volt meter method?

Is it as simple as putting two pins into the OBDII port and measuring the voltage between them?

I've never checked any OBD2 stuff this way but for ABS yes it appears that is true. It's just like checking engine codes on a 1g. You will need an analog meter or a meter with audible tones for voltage.
I couldn't find how it will output to tell you what the code is. The codes are on the next page but it just lists numbers. I suspect it will read out like morse code like obd1 engine codes. Count the blips etc.

Yes it'll beep out just like a 1g long and short tones. I saw somewhere one of your other posts stating the light comes on and stays on after it's self test. If that's the case and you're not driving the car that's a hard fault failure like the module isn't seeing voltage, ground, fuse etc. Wheel speed sensor failures usually wont trip the light until moving, I dont know that the ABS module does a circuit self test on the wheel speed sensors. If it does an open wheel speed circuit would auto trip the light, but I've run with wheel speed sensors unhooked and don't recall an ABS light until moving.

You can try it. Maybe it works on your 95 with the ABS ECU you've got. Looks like you ground pin 1 (or jumper it to pin 4 which is ground), and connect voltmeter to pin 12 to read voltage pulses. Report back if this works.
I tried a few different sequences. I never saw the meters needle move.

some of my confusion is trying to figure out which side of the OBD2 connector is pin 1 when looking at it like this:

Did anything come of this? I have an anti lock light on, not an ABS and im trying to figure out whats going on with mine.

How did you go about doing that? I’ve been considering doing the same.
You need a Non abs proportioning valve.

I used factory non abs lines but that is a thing of the past unless you find a parts car.

So you would still need new lines from the master to the valve and from the valve to the two front wheels.

STM sells a kit.
