Hi I was going to port my exhaust manifold(Just the outlet part). I was wondering do I port the outlet to match a 7cm gasket or do I just port it to get rid of the step?
I went to vfaq.com but It looked like they only ported the step
Thanks

Most port the step and maybe just a little beyond.
I would say it depends on several things.
1. how large that gasket actually is
2. How large is the opening of the turbo.

Reading the vfaq:
http://www.vfaq.com/mods/porting-turbo.html
and
http://www.vfaq.com/mods/porting-exhman.html
both just ported the step.

If you bought a ported turbo, port match everything to that size. You want everything flowing smoothly, not running into steps, etc.

Good luck

The rule is small to big, never big to small. It would be a great thing if you're willing to port match it to a 7cm gasket, the trick is you must port the turbine housing to match. Check out this thread so you'll have a better idea of what a complete/real port job looks like.
