Did anyone notice that the FCD added 48 Horsepower. Man oh man, if only Mike Welch was on this forum, this thread would cause an all-out riot.

All I know about fuel cut defender would be to limit the air flow Hz ,not good but they put on a 255 pump with no regulator so I guess they got buy with it but Aim sure normal driving would suffer with no way to combat the over richness of to much fuel pressure. :notgood:
I was having problems with my maft cause the fcd switch was on and I was not aware of it and I would pull 1140 half Hz's and that seamed strange to me as thats as high as it would ever go (once I saw 1154) found the switch was on and turned it of and now I get 1548 half Hz's made it a lot easer to tuner as I would go lean at the higher rpm's and could not really controle it as the maft was putting a limit on the air flow . My 2 cents ROFL

it was ranged from 25-75. It doesn't anywhere say it made 75 hp more through out the band just that at some point it is 75hp more than previously. Taking a stats class has shown me how easy numbers can be put in your favor. Even if the numbers clearly stated crap before you can make it look good for your side.

ya but look at the dyno charts, although it made horsepower in different places, at the end they almost got it up to 300 hp peak, notice how it falls on its ass a little after 300 though? anyway these dyno pulls are pretty damn good almost unbelievable, somebody should do the same and try to duplicate there findings, after all they only did basic mods.

yea this was discussed before, and yes import tuner is a reliable source for there bolt on tech, pretty sure they even came out with a separate magazine book thing that has just a bunch of power pages, but cant remember, but yea those are correct readings, im pretty sure that something about that fuel cut thing was bad, it got explained on an earlier thread like way back last year, try searching for it, might come up

People dont read magazines to find out that it is a little harder then they thought to run 9's. They wantr to see 100 hp increases with only spending 100 bucks.

LOL ya thats true, but out of all the cars they did the dyno on and got the most hp, im glad it was our cars. you flip the page and they spend like $1,200 for intake, exhaust, and headers for a civic and they get like 12HP and 10ftlbs. then i know they are a reliable source. becuase some cars actually loose power while on the dyno in import tuner.

As far as the fuel cut goes.. I don't see how they wouldn't of made any more power. Fuel Cut simply cuts fuel. Now if you have nothing to cut your fuel, it allows you to run more boost then of course it's going to make more power, assuming your not knocking and your timing isn't to low. :thumb:

Up until that article, I had pretty much felt that the Import Tuner power pages were legit. Expecially because the Hondas they had in there would only gain 10-15hp after a 1500-2000 investment. But then again, it is also important to remember that they aquired that car from a DSMer and it had suffered an engine fire. So it is conceivable that the engine/turbo may not be stock.

yea that happens alot, when they put like a fuel rail on a pretty much stock honda and lose horsepower, they will put like intake, catback, then out of nowhere a fuel rail, haha funny stuff

but i still think that import tuner is a very respectable magazine, as is super street, turbo, sport compacts, and a couple others that i cant think of, they are all respectable, just as long as you look at there techical articles and not there "well we put a blitz body kit, lowered it 7 inches, evo carbon fiber hood, roof scoop, altezza tails, and to back up the show with go, we slapped a short ram intake and sport muffler onto the 93 civic sohc non-vtec" :thumb:

I tend to agree with alot of the posts on here. Those numbers do seem too good to be true, but as stated, IT seems to be pretty on the ball as far as covering the real gains/losses some of those other crappy cars make *cough*honda*cough* I do have to disagree about Super Street being reliable however. most of that crap IS lowered cars with huge stereos and subs that LOOK like NAAWWWZ bottles. it's a joke. I've now had to limit myself to Turbo, IT, Sport Compact car and DSport. DSport has some of the BEST tech articles around. sorry, i got off topic. Yeah, somebody needs to try those mods out and let everybody know what happens.

OMG YES DSPORT YES!!, cant believe i forgot that one, that is like my favorite, like everything in it is technical, thank you for reminding me about that one :thumb:

I think they are pretty close.I don't know how those fcd work but like everyone said, they are pretty accurate with all the other cars.I have 2 power pages mags and they seemed legit. But who really knows.
