About cheap ebay pistons and wrist pins...

Listen folks... i've got to buy some very cheaps ebay pistons that comes with wrist pin, pistons and complete set of rings for something like 70 bucks. pistons looks very similar to 1g factory ones without any major differences in these. They are well builded like originals ones... the things that matter to me is the wrist pins that comes with the package. they are like the half of the thickness of the original ones. the question is how much wrist pin are submitted to stress in an conventionnal turbo engine regular basis??? When a stock engine is blown by to much hp or boost, is'it because the wrist pis can not support that ammount of boost and or/ hp???

I use ebay pistons and have no problem on 20 psi, but I also have my engine tuned for 1-3 hits of knock in a hard 1/4 run. On a daily driver with low boost the pistons and wrist pins will hold up fine. Wrist pin failure is uncommon and the chances of the rod breaking or the ring shelves on the pistons breaking is much higher.

Here we have a live testimonial about ebay pistons. This are kind of things we look for, not people that haven´t used the parts and blame on them. Ebay sells NPR pistons for a pretty cheap price. And NPR is a very good japan brand. The problem here, is that new Dsmer´s are apparently noobs and don´t know any further about brands. I used TIK pistons at 15 psi, just fine. Stop blaming pistons, blame the lack of tune and so on.
