Getting a popping noise from the driver side wheel area, I replaced the halfshaft and it still pops.. sway arm is secure, ball joints are all still connected fine, the aftermarket rims need new tires but they wouldnt cause popping like this.. it generally only happens when turning right, and doesnt happen very often but I would like to get it fixed since its annoying.

My Talon has the same popping noise, in both directions. All of the rubber bushings are old and siezed, and my suspension generally sounds like an old man's knees. I am hoping that popping sound is just a bushing getting stuck, either in the ball joint or the torque arm, and my plan to fix it is to install a poly bushing set and replace any bolts/joints that are in bad shape.

Im willing to bet mine is similar to your problem bpestilence, because I just replaced the whole halfshaft so I think it is the bushings.. I dont know though.. damn

kind of a vague way to diagnose ( over the 'net ) but sometimes teh spring seat on the strut will ahve some movement in it or basicly the spring moves on/in it and caises some popping noises ( my right one was that way for a while, i reposisiotne dth espring and put it back together and now it's fine// al;so ball joints can be connected and still be bad... the 2g cars are famous for having teh front lower control arm ball joints go bad... might kackj it up and check that as well

Thanks for the responses guys, it is now narrowed to the ball joints.. I lowered the car less than 3 months ago (new struts and springs) and it did it before that.. I am now almost positive it is the ball joints, whether lower or upper.. I just noticed it does it sometimes by just turning the wheel while moving slowly.. just found that out tonight.
