Lately I've noticed my back driver's side tire makes noise while I'm driving. It has gotten louder and louder as time progesses. I'm not sure if it's the tire, axel, bearing, or what not...any ideas?

If its more of a howling sound its probably the hub/wheel bearing. Also if your tires are chopped they can make a howling niose. Are your tires still in good shape?

tires are pretty good, and i hear this sound usually like 50mph+... what can be wrong with the wheel bearing and is it something i need to immediately change

Put the car up in the air and spin the wheels. Find out which wheel is making the noise so you for sure know where the sound is coming from. Then take the wheel off and spin the hub and try to see/ hear where the noise is coming from. If one wheel hub is bad and the other is good, you should be able to tell the difference. A hub isnt something that you'll need to replace imediately, but I would do it as soon as you can sqeeze it in. You could probably get one from a junkyard if you want to save some money. I can't imagine a new one is too cheap.

The easy way to check for a bad bearing/ hub is to jack up the car a few inches and put one hand on the top of the wheel and one hand on the bottom of the wheel and try to wiggle it. If it wiggles, the bearing is going bad. If you get really good at feeling for it, or if the bearing is very toasted, you don't even have to jack up the car to feel it.
