a nother evo 8 ecu question

I just got an apexi power fc d-jetro for the evo 8 from a friend of mine. will this work in my 98 gsx like the stock evo 8 ecu's do?

Possibly with an Evo 8 ecu. The 98-99 ecu's are very different.

it's a stand alone system. it replaces the ecu

Then it should be plug and play but if you don't run an Evo ecu currently you would have to re-pin some of the connectors.

I looked that model Power FC up online and, yes it will work but there will be some work involved. First you will need to do all of the mods necessary to install an EVO8 ECU in a 2G, as well as whatever modding is necessary to install the Power FC in the EVO8 only applying that to the 2G harness.

thats what i was hoping to hear. I know there was some things that needed adjusted to run the evo ecu in the dsm's. i wasnt sure if those things were adjustable on this ecu. I was reaing the instructions for it and it and i think the only difference is the fc for the evo is set for 580cc injectors and the fc for the dsm is set for 480cc injectors. I'm not sure about the other settings.
