Ok, so I find this 93 Mitsu Eclipse GS for sale... Its got a real nice interior/exterior, nice and shiny, etc... I call to get the price, 1500$. I thought it was really cheap so the next day I pull up for a test drive... Its got a couple of problems, first its got a wierd idle, it shakes a bit, the RPMS are still, but its got a shake and rumble thing, cant really explain it.... also though, the CV joint is out... It makes a HORRIBLE noise from the right front... Also, i didnt push the car hard since its a test drive and already in weak shape, but still, I noticed it had absolutely no balls, so I tried pushing the gas more and more, and it barely accerelates! Could this be part of the CV joint? Nothing important, easy fix, but the belts squak too, if that gives you anymore info... So i told the dealer and he said he'd look at it and maybe fix it or i bet he might knock off some of the total... But i wanted you's oppinions on this.. its a good price, and I dont really know the extent of the damage, maybe you have heard of a similar case... is it still worth it? maybe fix it and keep my other car (95 Mirage LS, 4g93) He might fix it also, i should know soon.... also, its an automatic and has 90k miles... please give me some info!!! THANKS

i got mine for 1000 bucks bro fwd turbo. runs good looks bad. these are out there. i wouldnt do that deal sounds like your impressions of the car are about right. imo i say no.

Ok, so went to talk to him again... He said hes going to have it all repaired :) YAY! I think now its a pretty good deal, its the cheapest DSM i've seen yet... they're quite cheap here, but their all non-turboes around 2000-2500... i have only seen like 2 turboed DSM for sale here, and one was crazy decked out for 7000 and the other i didnt have money for at the time, and it was 3000.... what do you say now?

Keep saving until you find a turbo, unless your really not performance oriented, then go for the n/a.

 Thats what im looking for a good running ugly fwd turbo, but i can't find none in ny or fl :thumbdown

Yea i wouldn't pay 1500 for any n/t since i got my awd for 1200 of course im still trying to fix what previous owners screwed up....turned into more of a project car than i would have liked.

Bought a 92 laser fwd turbo auto with 100k miles for 1000. Only bad is it's teal and auto. But makes a nice winter beater and has a little power. Hell, after this winter I'm selling it for 1000 if ya can wait :p . Really though, you can find turbo's for that much. Hell i've seen 2g nt's for a tiny bit more.

The only way I would take a non turbo DSM is if you gave it to me, then I would sell it and buy a new engine for my car or a different car.

just take your time you will find a car that fits you best. if you dont ul see a car deal you would have wanted and ul shoot urself.

*shrug* interesting, wasnt expecting such responses.... although maybe its the part of the country, i live in texas, but there is no way in hell i can get a turboed version for like 400 dollars :-/ once again, i have been searching and have located only 2 turboed cars for sale and they were WAY overpriced... 1500 is by far the best i've seen so far...
