This is kind of a huge newb question but I need it answered:| . Should I go with a A/F gauge, a EGT gauge, or both to make sure my engine doesn't blow??? And how do you install them? My Evo III manifold is pretapped for a EGT gauge so........that's where the EGT is supposed to be plugged. But, how would you install the A/F gauge?

DONT get an A/F gauge. I bought one when i first bought the car and then realised it was a huge waste of money. Basically it's a show light that gets "aroused" every few seconds and moves red yellow green. It's very unprecise and should never be used for tuning. EGT is better, and since you already have the bung in ## manifold, makes it that much simpler. Also if your keen on getting another gauge, get a boost gauge, its the same price as the af and actually useful.

EGT gauge a must. Forget the A/F unless it is wideband. The money toward the blinky light is much better spent on the tunning that is made available by wideband.

Although kids love the blinky lightOMG

yeah i usually advise against an a/f gauge because it is really just a little fancy light show. When I had it, I didn't learn anything from it and for some reason, with it hooked up, my car ran really bad. My advise would be to just get a wideband o2 setup if you want to really know how rich / lean you're running.

Ok, here is other helpful links for gauge installs.

Here is a good link to " How to install a Boost Gauge ".. That is if you haven't already got a Boost Gauge. If you don't that needs to be the next gauge you should get!

Ok, I'll take your guys's advice and go with an EGT then. I got a boost gauge already so the EGT is the only one I still "need". Thx for the help:thumb: now here's some REP!!!!
