Is this worth upwards of $2500 and what other parts will i need? aside from rods and pistons i have a jasper engine with 2k miles that i picked up for $450 and am rebuilding that for this type of turbo...is it worth it? Most of all will it work?

Thanks guys!

Its not so much is it worth it, as more is it worth it to you.

If you do some reserach and look up each part indvidually and its cheaper to buy everything seperately (asssuming you know where to find he same parts), then maybe its not worth it, but maybe its worth it to you to have it all comes as a kit.

I wouold call up hahnracecraft and find out exactly what comes with their stage 5 kit, and how much it costs, and if the one from that kit will be warrantied ect.

I really don't know what you mean by "jasper engine" so you'll have to explain that one.

I would also take careful consideration and find out exactly what type of turbo their are selling and what company makes it ect. You don't want to end up with a china made turbo if your paying for something of higher quality.

yeah I know the girl selling it, but I was wondering if it would be worth it....I didnt know if "Tial" was a company that made turbo's or not, is it a good deal I will be running wiseco pistons with eagle rods. Jasper is a company that takes old engines, puts remaned heads and blocks with new internals together and sells them with warantees. The one i picked up has 2k miles. Let me know if i should invest in that kit, if its not of good quality than I will be packin for the hahn $3475 stage 4 kit. I think this kit is well worth the money it is only missing boost gauge and boost controller.

Assuming everything is like new I think it's a decent price. The portueler setup is ~$1000 alone new. If you could get it all for 2k I would definetly look into it.

And Tial is a well known company, their parts are top notch...
Wastegate $225
BOV Probably somewhere in the 150-200 range

Mind me asking what the hahn stage 4 for $3475 is? Last time I checked it was that much for a stage 2 with fmic setup

TiAL doesn't make turbos, just BOVs and wastegates as far as I know.

The kit sounds pretty good... I don't know about the turbo (I'd have to see it or have more specs), but overall, it sounds good. That is, of course, assuming everything is in good shape, and isn't a knockoff.

Portfueler alone can cost upward of $800, plus things like the manifold, turbo, and TiAL wastegate and BOV are all really expensive parts. Plus all the little things add up...

No, no, no.

Jasper does do that but they do NOT rebuild the motor with forged components. They use the standard OEM products. NOT stronger components by any means..

This means you are still limited to 8psi.

Unless you somehow had them build it with forged internals, which would be a custom job for them to do.

Not only that, but I've asked them directly on the phone and that was the answer I got, if that means anything to you..

I'm pretty certain he didn't say it came with forged internals...

I am thankful for your heads up but I have a machine shop that I am going to that will put the pistons and rods in, bore it out, and put some other parts. I am ready for the setup and am almost done pulling all the crappy parts off of the new engine such as intake manni and fuel rail. I hope to get it in the shop by friday or saturday. Once I get it all back and put it together I am getting the engine installed professionally, seeing as how I am using all stock components and keeping my A/C. The mechanic says he can have my motor out and the new one in place in about 6 hours. Than, I will be putting the turbo on and praying I get boost. Do I need to get it dyno tuned after it is all said and done, and/or will I need to hook my laptop up to the engine in any way? Sorry for being a noob but I want/need to get it right the first time.

I thank you all for sticking with me thus far, but I have more questions. I am here: http://www.420a.cimotorsports.net/. and I am trying to find the missing pieces of the puzzle for my little kit listed above. I know what most of the parts I need are, but what is "STD(not sexually transmitted diseases)" is that the turbo setup or what? Thank you guys again for helping me out. I also am looking at the AEM's tru-boost gauge-type controller. Is that a boost controller similar to the stage 5 hahn controller, that is done from the driver's seat?

STD = Standard... as in standard bore, standard thickness, etc..

So, if I decide to bore it out a bit to fit my wiseco pistons in, I would need the .010 +? I am going to talk to the machine shop guy on friday to see what I should do. After that, it will be engine install time, followed up by turbo install time. I thank you all so much for your help, and keep an eye on this post as I will be updating and asking more questions as new things arise.

-p.s. I still was wondering about that boost controller.

essentially after the machine shop, has gotten to clean and inspect your block, they should be able to tell you what size pistions to order, if they motor is in good shape chances are it will be a standard bore, if they feel like they want to make some adjustments to the wall, they might go up to a .20 over bore.

If they aren't ordering the parts for you, and you are doing it yourself and giving them the parts, ask them for exactly what size and spec for everything, infact have them write it down. You really don't want to mess anything up on the inside.

Will do. Any reccomendations on clutches/flywheels that I should invest in if I have the money, and/or that boost controller I listed above. Is that boost controller worth the money? It is listed for about $250.

Personally I would just invest in a manual boost controller ($50 for hallman/joe p)and then use the extra money towards something like a zeitronix wideband setup. Unless of course you really want an Electronic Boost Controller

As for what kind of boost controller comes with the hahn kit, I'm not sure :shrug

Clutches for our cars, a lot of guys are happy with southbend, do a little research on them for our cars though, there is plenty of info here and on 2gnt about clutch options for our vehicles and you will learn the differences between modular and non-modular

If im not mistaken modular is for '96+ and '95 eclipses had non- modular, I do, however, need to learn the difference. My stock clutch wont hold long running 16psi(personal max) before I burn it up, plus it's cheaper to put it all in when I install the engine.

I'm pretty sure Hahn doesn't include a MBC in their kit, I think they just have a 7-8 psi wastegate.

And also, Tial DOES make turbochargers. They are apart of Garrett so it makes sense.

Some 95's have non modular, though I haven't ever seen one. I'm a 95 and I have modular. You really don't need to worry about it though as you said 96+ are all modular. Just order one from a reputable company and you will get what you need. It will probably be listed as "modular" type in the ad.

As I have with everyone else I've helped with getting a clutch, I recommend Southbend clutch greatly and know a few others who will. They have great prices and customer service is amazing! www.southbendclutch.com

Thank you, I am off to work and dont have time to check, but do they have kits, clutch and flywheel; because I bought the motor with a pressure plate for an auto tranny, not a flywheel for a manual. Ill check later and I greatly appreciate your advise.

.. If you are getting a modular clutch, the flywheel and clutch are riveted together. It is one piece. Maybe your refering to the flexplate?
