Ok, im still very new to working on a dsm, i have a 2gNT, i was wondering what parts i'd have to order, whats the most common parts generally used, ive searched and found some things, and what turbo should i run ( t3? ), sorry this is a really noobie question but im just now wanting to learn how to work on my car. i know hahns racecraft sells a kit for it but i'd rather build the engine a little to handle it than just use all stock internals. and around how much would it cost thanks for the help in advance.

Before you post a question you should use the search toolbar. So many people have asked the same exact thing as you, and i guarantee you can find 100's of posts that will answer your questions.

Hahn has stage 1 and 2 kits that you can run on stock internals. I have had my stage 2 on since February 07 and it's still runnin very well. The only problem is my clutch is pretty much gone and i think i've worn down the synchros. But the car has 145,000 miles on it, and i'm sure clutch and tranny are stock.

yeah i know they have stage I and II kits, but as i said id rather build the engine a little more than run on stock internals and risk something going wrong, i guess what i want to know is as far as pistons/rods/injectors and such would be good to go with.

Go there, it will do you well.

I searched in the 420a forum only and searched for pistons

Thats what it gave me and theres loads of info that would help you decide.

You can go back and search for rods then and the same will happen. Or perhaps, engine rebuild.. You get the picture. Then when you have a specific question that hasnt been answer 1000 times everyone will be glad to help you.

Try looking on other sites as well such as Welcome! <- 2gnt.com which is a forum for specifically for the 420a. There are people with loads of knowledge there.

These are all vendors for the 420a

Search around on all of these sites and I guarentee you will be able to make a decision on what you want.

The stock internals hold up just fine so unless you intend to run more then 12psi everyday then I would say just stick with stock internals. If you do want to upgrade them, JE and Weisco are the choice for pistons, Eagle for rods, and any Dsm/Evo injectors will do.

a little heads up from howell.. i hear stories about how their shipping takes foreverrrrr, except mine was fine though.

Alright, thanks for the tips and advice, gonna start saving up and start building
