Ok fellas, i thought i was going to go all show, but i need some go. Awhile back, my car spun a rod bearing, and i ended up rebuilding the engine. I went with forged rods, pistons, and got new rings. I plan on getting the hrc stage 2 kit, which i read that stage 3 is just a stage 2 with forged internals, so i guess ill have a stage 3 kit. Anyway, would this still be a reliable daily driver? Would gas milage suffer a lot? Are there any drawbacks to doing this? Any help would be appreciated.

Since you have forged internals, you would indeed be closer to a stage III kit. Just don't overdo it if all you're looking for is some go. It might be best to stick with stage II boost levels and feel the car out before going further. Also, if you plan on going past II, ensure that the car is getting adequate fuel and you may wish to invest in a decent boost controller, like a profec or something along those lines.

I've heard great things about Hahn kits so give them a ring, tell them your setup (compression ratio, etc.) and let them help you pick out something that will give you the additional kick the car needs while keeping it reliable.

Keep us posted and good luck!

Andy

P.S. Of course you'll need to run 93 octane, but your mileage will only be affected based on how much you lay into the boost in your daily driving. If a turbo isn't creating boost, it isn't requiring more fuel and therefore your car would have the same mileage as an N/T. Lay into it all the time and it will surely eat more gas.
