I'm coming hom from school and I see this stupid kid in his Civic HB doing stupid moves to catch up to me. He catches up and starts reving his engine, and I don't hear a turbo. So I take my turn and sound off my BOV, he laid off me and stopped bothering me. So I got home and asked my friend who knows Honda's about that kids car. He said rumor has it, it has a B18c (I don't know Honda engines) N/A, and it would be pulling 160 whp, and that he would have smoked me. Is this true? A N/A Civic pulling 160 whp with no torque beating me only because he has a light car?
I want to know if I could take him, because this kid follows me home EVERY day trying to race me. Even if I leave my car at home and have my girlfriend take me home, he follows me. And she goes a different way home. I really would like to make this kid get off my back.
I just ordered a Dejon Tool UIC pipe, and I have a automatic. :(
I want to know how much WHP I could make with my stock tranny and still be safe. I want enough to smoke this kid and to shut up all the Honda guys at school. Even though I don't street race, I just want enough power so he doesn't mess with me.
BTW, can a N/A Honda really make 160 whp when the owner is a highschooler on a budget?

I doubt it but civics are light and you do have a automatic, but I still doubt it.

"I really would like to make this kid get off my back."

Beat his ass!! That always works!

"I want to know how much WHP I could make with my stock tranny and still be safe."

Not sure of exact numbers (I would be concerned more about torque then HP though as far as tranny limits), but people buy shift kits and stuff to beef up the stock AT tranny so I guess its good enough to smoke a few hondas as long as you dont get hard on it EVERY day.

If he has rich parents anything is possible ;)!

Good luck smoking his ass!

If its a b18c then it has about 130-140 whp and if its a b18c5 then itll have 150whp at best with a 2200pound hatch itll be tough but wioth the uic and what you already have you should be able to beat him somewhat...the auto tranny is what is going to hinder you. race him then get back

Beat him... LOL
I think it might be a B18c5.
But I really need to know how much torque and WHP my stock tranny can handle. Because I got the money just need to know before I go buy.

The stock auto tranny with only an Alto end clutch upgrade, a TransLab shift kit, a tranny cooler, and some good synthetic ATF with a LubeGard additive is good up to, most people say, around 350WHP. A couple of the fastest A/T guys still run stock trannies. Even a bone stock A/T should hold 300, at least for a while. A tranny cooler is a must-- read transdude's article in the tech section about A/T upgrades and maintenance.

race him and you'll know for sure if he is swap or not.
civics coupes and sedans are plain slow when engine is not swapped or squeezin.

oh yeah...on auto...ya better get an auto tranny cooler, its worth it in my opinion. and ya can try running those synthetic auto tranny fluid like BG synthetic or Redline ATF.
Theres places that you can take ur auto tranny for an upgrade....they cost like 1-2g.
