Ok so Im motor swapped (out of a 97 gst iirc), Rebuilt by me 14b swapped. Evo 9 fuel pump, MBC, VRSF FMIC, Turbosmart BOV, K&N filter kit. Not sure if ECU is swapped or tampered with. Running 16psi. TPS set properly, may have minor boost leaks still, I need to BLT again.

Here's a few questions.

1. After having my battery disconnected for awhile, my auto drivers down for my window is no longer functioning. How do I fix this?

2. My BOV makes a fluttering kinda sound, is this an acceptable sound from a bov? Or is a BOV really only supposed to be a straight one shot burst of air? It doesn't seem to be creating compressor surge. Its vacuum actuation is adjustable though, i may go max out and see what happens. Any thoughts?

3. I don't have a BCS hooked up, apparently mine hasn't been hooked up electrically in a very long time. I don't have a CEL or any adverse effects, is this normal? Or is it possibly a byproduct of either ECU tampering or just randomly happens to work out?

4. Finally, I have never experienced hard piping for a turbo before, my 14b makes a decent amount of turbine sounds when its decel-ing while i have the clutch held in, spool and everything is good, i figure it's probably normal, but i just thought i would ask if its a problem or warning sign.

1. Charge battery back up. start the car, see if its all good. if not. test the voltage/power at the connector for the window motor.

2. Is it recirculated? or atmosphere dump. if it's atmosphere dump with the stock MAF then it's surging. recirculate it.

3. if you haven't had problems with it being like that, leave it alone

4. Normal. hard pipes make everything echo and make it louder

Car runs and drives, starts and the whole nine, window works fine, its the one touch auto drivers side down that isn't functioning. Its not a voltage/amperage problem, its like something needs to be reset.

Recirculated of course.

Im leaving it alone, LOL.

Cool.

Thats some positively reinforcing answers. Thank you.

check your window switch.

Sounds like the BOV might need adjusted. Recirculating is a good idea but no it will not cause a bov to surge.

No the BCS does not need to be hooked up, I've ran mine disconnected for about 5 years now with zero ill effects.

Hard piping is fine, Some will argue that the diameter of piping and size of the VRSF core are too big for a 14b but you'll be fine.

1. Bust out your DMM, download the pdf and start on page 1881.

2. BOV flutter can lead to compressor surge and damage the turbo's bearings. If it flutters, you need to adjust it to open under less vacuum. Flutter is bad whether it's recirculated or not.

3. If the BCS is just disconnected from the vac lines, you won't have a problem. If it's unplugged from the wiring harness the CEL comes on and you'll find a P1104 DTC. If you have the codes read and this one doesn't show up, either the ECU is not stock or the ECU still "sees" the BCS.

4. Perfectly normal.

I adjusted the BOV, it is now functioning as intended, seems that i had a pinhole in my BOV vacuum line as well, which has been rectified.

Im looking into the window issue, its quite strange.

I can only really answer question 2 it depends on what type of blow off you have I have a ssqv and at low psi mine flutters and, at high psi it sounds like they all do.
Also I know that if your vacuum is disconnected to the b/o you'll get that fluttering so check that if there's nothing wrong there then its just a normal sound yours makes at low psi

So does your power window still go up/down at all? My auto power window has to be "double clicked" I guess you could say LOL but it still goes all the way down without holding the button. Always was like that.

Mine functions up/down while holding it normally, i just don't have the "double click/one touch" automatic down. I'm swinging over to U Pull it today, to get another switch and some odds and ends. I like dissecting a junkyard car before i tear apart my own door panel.

Maybe i will find some hidden treasure! Probably not though, DSM's get raped at our junk yards.
