Being a noob I am and searching furiously within the past few weeks have finally come up with a good list of mods. Hell I even bought some already. But I have a few questions:

1. I want to go with the EVOIII 16G turbo. Do I just use the same install kit as you would with a small 16G (like the one from RRE)? Would I use the full tweaker kit or the regular (cheaper) tweaker kit.

2. Is this turbo positioned differently? How would I run I/C piping? I would like to use the Greddy FMIC, but am at a loss of how this all works. In the RRE kit they have a J pipe, from my understanding mates up with the IC piping at a different location.

3. Is the greddy IC piping have a flange for the Greddy Type S? Or would I have to get one welded on.

4. I am looking at getting my exhaust manifold replaced. Due to people saying theirs crack and sag and the like. Is the cast exhaust manifold from SBR the exact same as stock? With the exception the the 7mm collector. Will this bolt directly up to the EVO16G?

5. Would you reccomend getting an aftermarket O2 housing for this turbo as well? I understand about the stock O2 housing, and would Port it out myself (I have a dremel fetish).

6. What horsepower range am I looking at? Tuning Via SAFC with all supporting mods. HP range of course. 325-350?

7. Also; My mods thus far:

Apexi 2.5 inch Downpipe
Turbo XS highperf. Boost controller
Autometer EGT and Boost gauge

What Test pipe/catback would you reccomend going with the D/P?

Thanks for all your help.

Sorry about that... Asume the car is between a 95-99 and is stock except for the mods I bought. Thanks.

If this is your first time ever doing any work on the turbo, I'd recommend you get the full kit because you know the lines will fit correctly, and it will be one less thing for you to worry about since you'll be worrying about other stuff because its something new to you.

2. Is this turbo positioned differently? How would I run I/C piping? I would like to use the Greddy FMIC, but am at a loss of how this all works. In the RRE kit they have a J pipe, from my understanding mates up with the IC piping at a different location.

yes its positioned different. The stocker has an elbow that points to the passenger side. The 16g points up. You will need the j-pipe for 2g's. If you just talk with RRE, they are nice people and will make sure you get everything you need.

3. Is the greddy IC piping have a flange for the Greddy Type S? Or would I have to get one welded on.
Once again talk to RRE because some Greddy kits don't even include the upper pipe. Call them they can help youu out with that.

4. I am looking at getting my exhaust manifold replaced. Due to people saying theirs crack and sag and the like. Is the cast exhaust manifold from SBR the exact same as stock? With the exception the the 7mm collector. Will this bolt directly up to the EVO16G?
Your 2g manifold is a good manifold. Get her ported and it'll flow all you or I would ever need.

5. Would you reccomend getting an aftermarket O2 housing for this turbo as well? I understand about the stock O2 housing, and would Port it out myself (I have a dremel fetish).
If you have extra money laying around, then get a tubular 3" one. If not, the stock one with a nice port job will work just dandy.

6. What horsepower range am I looking at? Tuning Via SAFC with all supporting mods. HP range of course. 325-350?
That's a resonable estimate with the supporting mods you'll have. Prolly right in the 300 vicinity.

Any catback will fit the downpipe. RnR is pretty low price if you don't want to spend a lot. Plus he can add anything you want the the exhaust for a lil more money, like a Carbon Ti muffler, just ask him.

Just ask the vendor your buying your stuff from what you should get if you're worried about the parts fitting. They will make sure they sell you something that will work and fit together. Most of them are nice guys and will help you get what you're looking for outta your car.

I appriciate your time to post the information. Looks like I will be making a few phone calls today.

WOW, me612. Very nice reply. Straight and to the point. I agree 100% with everything he said. We had a guy here who put down 304hp on race gas with the standard 16G so the EVO should be able to handle 300 no problem.

Hey I just got to Japan and they restrict our liberty hard core. So really I have nothing better to do then sit here and answer all the questions I can. God they better let me get out, I'm going to go crazy if I have nothing better to do but sit here and browse this site for the entire year I'm here.
