Ok so I've been reading over a lot of the post's that have no spark. The car is a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GST. The car came in with no spark on both coils and the fuel pump not turning on while cranking so I checked the cam sensor and the crank sensor and replaced both.

Now I have spark on cylinder 2 and 3 and no spark on 1 and 4. I have checked the primary and secondary resistance on the coils and they check out fine. I also have a spare coil and power transistor from a 91 Galant VR4 that is in working and neither produce spark at 1 and 4. Any help would be appreciated.

Solution
Ok so i resolved the problem. I replaced the power transistor with a working one and tested for spark again. I had spark on cylinder 2 and 3 so I started to read about were the wiring went for the other coil. I had a pulse out of the transistor so I figured if I jumped the wire straight to the coil it should work and it did. There must have been corrosion or something on the Engine Speed Detection Connector. The car runs great without the jumper wire on the coil pack.

Solution
I have no choice but to revive this since no one has answered my thread regarding my 2 cylinders of spark joy.

We're the wires for the coil pack the same color at the power transistor? I think at the coil they are blue/red and I think the other was blue/white.

I am at my wits end with this situation really. I hope this can be a route to explore.

The wires for cylinders 1 and 4 change color at the Engine Speed Detection plug.

The problem I had was with no spark on 1 and 4 and spark at 2 and 3 with a good coil and transistor pack. The Engine Speed Detection plug is on the back of the firewall by the throttle body I believe so I ended up having continuity but I guess there was some corrosion so I jumped the wire with a vampire clip on the transistor pack straight to the coil and I had spark.

After running the car for a while I took off the jumper wire and it still had spark at 1 and 4 so my guess is that the signal wasn't reaching the coil because of some corrosion. I hope that helps you out. Also I changed the cam and crank sensor along with the timing belt and water pump as it was a customers car that came in for a no start and the crank sensor wasn't putting out a signal.
