The ecu went out of my eclipse so I ordered one off eBay, and installed it and the car was running great for about 3 hours total and then it just died. It was still getting spark but no fuel. (Would run off ether) so I changed the fuel filter and pump and still won’t run. But now it doesn’t have any spark. What should I do?

Random dying of 2g N/T cars a lot of times stems from bad grounds. There is a ground near the back of the headlight on the driver side. I'd start there.

If the ground doesn't help I'd move on to testing the crank sensor and then test the coil.

This site outlines how to test the crank sensor and coil. It's intended for chrysler vehicles but 99% of the info works for the 2G NT cars

How did you diagnose the ECU as bad originally?

I will clean up the grounds and make sure they are all correct. I’ll get back to you when I have done that. But as for diagnosing the ecu, I’m not sure how the shop did it. They just told me it was bad

I changed the crank sensor, changed the coil pack, and I checked the ground behind the headlight. Tried two different ECUs and Still no spark. Do you have any ideas I can try? Please someone help

The camshaft position sensor also plays a key role in the ignition system. If that turns out to be the issue don't go with an Ebay sensor. There's also another ground that connects on the rear side of the upper intake manifold to the firewall.

I checked the ground to the intake and that was fine. I haven’t checked the cam sensor but I don’t have power going to the coil pack

Changed the computer twice and ran for about a week then fried the second computer. What could be doing that?
