I purchased a 95 Eclipse GSX 5 speed a while back and now I have to remove the battery to work on some things. The vehicle came with a 99 flashable ECU that the previous owner tuned himself.

My question is, will i loose the tune if I disconnect the battery for a few days while I do work on the GSX?

Thanks for the quick reply. This helped me out with a few questions I have. I currently don't have the cable needed to load a tune so this will save me some down time if i just find a way to keep power to it during my work.

You wont lose them otherwise the factory ecu would go blank when you have your battery changed at autozone and you would be stranded everytime LOL.

So it seems the consensus is I won't loose ANY of the tune if I disconnect the battery for about 3 full days.:hmm: I was looking into purchasing this

Schumacher/5 Ah battery memory saver with built in charger and 36 in. OBD II connector cable (SEC-5A-OBD) | Memory Settings Saver

Should I get it and plug it in just to play it safe?

Just encase it wasn't known and to reiterate the vehicle is a 1995 Eclipse GSX 5 speed with a 1999 Eclipse GSX flashable ECU, that has been flashed with a tune by the previous owner, I do not currently own the tactrix cable required to connect to tune at the moment. The car has a 6 bolt swap, 16g turbo, injectors, fuel rail, exhaust, no cat, piping, front mount intercooler, blow off valve, etc etc.

I would just hate to go through the work of making it driveable again just to get hung up on the fact that it wouldn't start or run due to the tune being wiped out, then purchasing the new cable and waiting for shipment, learning how to tune on this setup and dialing it in.:(

Thanks for the feedback and thanks in advanced for the help guys!:thumb:

I bench flash and sell the flashable ecu's once in a while, and they sit for a year or more on a shelf and dont lose anything, you will not lose your flash.
