[PA99eclipse]

I wanted to say hi and hope all is well. Let me get to the issue that I'm having. My wife's 99 GS eclipse just blew a head gasket with 160+ miles and the dealer quoted almost 1k to replace the head gasket with labor. Is it worth it with the car having that many miles? I'm open to suggestions since I know nothing about the Eclipses.

Well a grand way too much its up to you do you want to keep the car, but a grand no way, did mine in a day or two first time.

no i got mine done for 500 including headgasket , new oil , new coolant and swap my oil pan.. (cracked oil pan at the time)

yeah 1k is too much. If you don't want to do it. Look for a reputable shop that will charge less and do a good job.

If you do it it can only be around $400 buying OEM parts. At the same time you will might as well replace the timing belt an components. Thats another $80 for an OEM timing kit.
There is no labor included in those prices. That's if you want to do it yourself.
