hey all. so i just picked up a 99 Eclipse GS Oz Rally Edition. The previous owner was trying to track down a rough idle issue (i think i figured it out with it being a hose running from the intake to the head vacuuming closed, so ill replace it with a heavy duty hose) and he has all kinds of vacuum lines and other stuff running over thee top of the engine and all around. So i was going to see about just deleting all the Emissions crap since i dont need to go through Emissions with this car. A lot of what iv been seeing is for the 4g63 engine and removing the EGR and Charcoal Canister, etc... Ill keep looking for one for the 420a engine, but wanted to ask on here as well.

What all should i look for on this engine for maintenance and things i can delete for emissions so the car can breath and run better? i want to KEEP the AC and all of that.. So just deleting anything that was put in to pass emissions.. also, any tips on what to add to the engine to help it with reliability? i am not wanting to tweak it for speed and power.. It already has aftermarket DC Headers and supposidely a Borla Exhaust and the Air Intake runs down past the factory air box to in front of the tire.. That looks like all of the aftermarket done. Thank you!!

From the picture it looks like your evap port is already capped off. If that's the case, all you need to do now is remove all of the excess parts and cap it off on the gas tank side. (i.e. leak detection pump, purge solenoid, all pertaining hoses, egr solenoid)

Just be aware that when you remove all of these things you will have some codes showing.

Won’t that create excess pressure in the tank?

I’m trying to find threads and what not on the 420a charcoal canister delete but all I find is 4g63 stuff and would that mess with the egr being deleted ?
