I want to give my RS a little more power so im thinking of upgrading a few things but im not looking to break the bank. I have never done most of these things so if you post advice of what to do or how much its gonna cost that would be great.

Cam Gear: 23-850BK AEM Tru-Time Cam Gear - 5 Bolt (Black) for 95-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse at Andy's Auto Sport

Air intake: Red Mitsubishi Eclipse Talon 2 0L L4 Non Turbo RS GS ESI Air Intake 1995 1999 | eBay

Pull kit: 95-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse Pulley Kits from Unorthodox Racing at Andy's Auto Sport

Headers: 95-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse Headers from Megan Racing at Andy's Auto Sport

Let me know what to think or any other upgrades!

I just did a full stock rebuild on my 96 Rs. I bought it with a spun bearing.

maintenance!!!!
Ebay full exhaust
Ebay intake
a good pulley like you listed
Port the throttle body

you don't notice much power increase in these mods but its alright for a daily driver.

That is really it. I mean the MSD coil sucks and the stock ignition is good enough for awhile.

Honestly if you want power Turbo is the way to go. Don't waste money on this stuff and then switch to turbo and have to sell all this. Decide now.

The unorthodox pully you linked is for the turbo models, gst and gsx, with the 4g63 engine. The unorthodox ones for the non turbo model with the 420A are hard to find and they are around $200. The adjustable cams gears are really meant to be used with aftermarket cams. There is not much power to be made on the non turbo cars with just bolt on's. I have all the basic bolts on's with the exception of the underdrive pully and there is not any noticable gain in power.

Why don't you like the MSD coil?
Sure it won't really give you a power increase but it doesn't seem to hurt anything.
For the OP here is a link to the 420a upgrade path.

Check the reviews man. I know for 99% of platforms MSD is very good/reputable however, apparently with the 420a they only copied OBX or something and the turn out was not good. I have read of people saying the coil pack would go bad after a few months to a year. The warranty is only 1 year for them BTW. I just had to replace the OEM and went with the Duralast because it has a lifetime warranty and I needed it ASAP so I could not order the "screamin demon" one. (that would be my number 1 pick)

Anyways I have no hard facts myself but just what others have said. Some people do fine with it but for the extra money the duralast/OEM is better.

Again the stock ignition is PLENTY for a 420a car until boosted and a lot higher HP.

I've had one on my 2g since 06, never had a problem.
I will agree 100% it isn't necessary because it puts out the same voltage as OEM
From my experience it is reliable and wouldn't say it sucks.
From what I've read the screaming demon is the way to go if you just have to upgrade.
