It could be the iac valve in the throttle body, I had this happen on my 420a eclipse and my saturn ion both would stall at idle and not want to idle

if the new cam sensor isn't an OEM sensor, i would either return it to the place you bought it or at least swap it for another one.
i have seen a lot of new sensors that didn't work. the ones from autozone are cheap crap. saw 1 car where the owner tried 3 different AZ sensors, couldn't get the car to start, i threw on an old OEM sensor i had laying around and it fired right up.

i have also seen the sensor installed upside down.
plug should be pointing down.
