After, I sold my last 1g about two years ago I said that I would never buy another dsm ever...boy was I wrong.
I found this gem on a random search on craigslist for a price that I couldnt say no to. I had always wanted a 2gb awd and had to have it. After checking it out, the compression was great and the 6 bolt swap was done correctly. The only thing the car really needed was a clutch. The previous owner said that the fidanza clutch only had 4500ish miles on it and didnt know why it went. It was so bad that it didnt grab until the clutch was let out all the way. When we replaced it with a new clutch, we found that there was no fluid in the transfer case and that caused the extra strain on the clutch.
Over the next few months I started to do the normal maintenance on a dsm. Gaskets, belts, etc. I later moved to performance and added injectors, external wastegate, fpr, and a fuel pump among many other things.
After multiple problems, she is now running excellent as of last night.
