Adventures in daily driver dsm this weekend. The clutch was beginning to slip and a had a sneaky suspicion when the kid i got it from filled the car up with coolant he ment water. ( I was right but far from the worst thing I found. )

Started out and knew it was going to be one of "those" type of jobs when I went to remove the wheels and had to get a thin wall 21mm to get the wheels off. Not a big deal and glad I found out in a manner that didn't have me stranded by the road.

Someone of the previous owners was a big fan of hammers apparently so both front axles had the ends mushroomed out to an almost impressive degree. Slide pins in the passenger front brakes hadn't seen greese in years. Got it all apart without to much drama other than the axles being really fond of their home in the wheel hubs but they were out of the way enough to get the Trans out and a new clutch in.

Assembly is where things started to go sideways. I wound up swapping spindles and axles out of a parts gsx because of how chewed up they were. Only problem now is the parts car is non abs and the daily has well had abs. The transfer case fluid looked like it had never been changed when I drained it which isn't surprising but still disappointing.

All told made the job a lot more drawn out than I would have liked and made me appreciate my parts horde. The car is back together and much happier with its new act over the worn out luk. Fixed a few boost leaks while I had the intercooler lines apart with new hose couplers. Boost is still set low because I have reason to believe the Guage is a lie and needs replaced but it's fine for driving back and forth to work.

Nice, man. Glad you were able to get it sorted out. All those cringe worthy things that inexperienced people do really make you shake your head. Haha.
Sounds like it's in the right hands, now!
