98 gst spyder what should i do about the ugly KIT?

i just bought a 98 GST Spyder and the paint and body is super clean but it has a front and rear body kit with OEM side skirts. i dont know to keep it or to buy the OEM front bumper and rear and slam it? or to put the money into my 16G upgrade. you decide ### help i hate RICE

If that was mine i would look for someone to trade you for their body. Or just burn the body kit, and go oem.

Well from the pics i don't think that it looks that bad, and if the paint is good i'd say go with the 16g. With supporting mods of course.
And if you tune it right you won't have to worry about being "ricey" as there are typically all show and no go.

Oh dear lord, get yourself an oem 97-99 style rear bumper asap and get a front bumper off ebay and hten get the pieces painted. Body kits looks cheesy in my opinion. After that a nice decent 1.5" drop would be nice and help with handling a bit. I would suggest eibach pro-kits, or if you want to go a little lower get the sportlines. Don't forget to upgrade the shocks as well.

If the kits in good shape take it off and sell it, and go with oem stuff. then just lower it a bit, and your good to go

yah the picks are crappy i hate snow... but yah the kit is in great shape so maybe ill take it off and sell it and use that money to get the OEM bumpers.. and yes i have a set of EIbach springs ordered thanks for the help and go OEM bumpers

Any way you can take better pictures? Kind of hard to see. Anyways, at least you can get the fron 97-99 bumper easily, but you will run into trouble trying to find the rear 97-99 easily.

yes ill get more pics up soon... the car looks 10X's better with it washed but the kit is still ugly. thxs for your imput i think im going to sell the kit and purchase a new front and rear bumper. anyone know were to find them at? besides EBAY

Ebay or certifit for the front bumper is a guaranteed find for the front bumper. A stock rear bumper is usually a lot harder to find. They sometimes pop up on ebay, or the classifieds here.

If it had the sides, it would probably look pretty good. But anyways, if you like it, dont be afraid to keep it on there, regardless what some people on here will say. But if you dont like it, sell it, or trade for stock parts.

yah.. i mean it does not look that bad when the car is washed i do like the stock look of these cars slammed tho but i mean if the car was unpainted with these bumpers i would rip them off right now but the cars paint is so clean.... ill get some pics up soon..... but i just hate my car being called rice esp by other DSM's and most of my friends drive slammed honda's and they call it rice so im trying to get out of that name.... STILL cant find a rear bumper anyone help with this?
