Hey guys I got the Check Engine light with these codes...

1390
1494

Any clue what they can be? They don't even sound right.

Here's a link that was given to me earlier by another person on this forum who was helping me with my most recent thread. I tried doing what's provided in this link and it worked for me, so maybe you should check it out. If you notice on the list that is shown on the site, there's a code called P1390 that says that your timing belt jumped 1 tooth or more, so if your car seems to be running strangely, this could be why.

Check your camshaft and crankshaft sensors...

What side of the motor is the crankshaft sensor located? About where?

Also my camshaft sensor has a hairline crack in the inside, how can I tell if this is the problem?

I should note we FINALLY did a Head Gasket change, and got the motor working last night.

According to my hayne's manual, the crankshaft position sensor is located on the side of the block, right above the oil filter...I'm not very familiar with the camshaft sensor, so sorry I can't help you much with that. I would assume that having a crack in it is bad, but it's not my call. I'll let somebody who knows for sure answer that one for you. :talon:

pull the cam sensor off and make sure the magnet is still ok on it. the hairline crack could be a problem. If the crack is only an exterior blemish and not structural damage then you should be fine because of the location and temp of the bay will keep it pretty moisture free.

Sorry newbie Q, I have taken it off but how can I check if the magnet is good? Check with a piece of steel? Would it not be magnetic if broken?

No, you'd either see a crack, or the magnetic would be broken completely off the end of the camshaft.
