so i finally figured out how to check my car by cel on the dash since my obd2 wont hook up with my car under the dash and i got 5 different codes. 12, 44, 37, 42, 45 but i cant find the reference for cel 45. 37 is the park/neutral switch and it says to replace my pcm? well i havn't had my a/fx ecu more then 3 weeks. 44 says battery temperature sensor volts out of limit, it also says replace pcm. i could only find the chart for cel codes on 2gnt.com and there is no 45 cel code on the chart i found and there is 2 different 42 cel. one is No MFI relay (ASD_relay) output voltage at PCM and the other is Fuel pump relay control circuit, is that the same thing? i do have an unorthadox under drive pulley so im not sure if all of this is normal or not. if it says my asd is bad should i just replace it? or can someone tell me what the voltage for the asd is suppose to be at? im still trying to work out the kinks with everything

Are you using your original ECU? The 2GNT doesn't have a battery temperature sensor, but Neons do. If this is your original ECU, and you're getting code 44, either the battery or the PCM need to be replaced.

Are you sure you read code 45 and not code 55? Code 55 signifies the end of the error messages.

all of these codes i got were from my a/fx ecu i just installed about 3 weeks ago. and code 45 came before code 55. cel codes came in this order 12, 44, 37, 42, 45 then 55 which i know means its the end of the codes. it was weird because with my stock ecu i had no battery light on and after i put the a/fx ecu in i had my battery light on then i checked the codes and thats what i got.

can anyone give me feed back on this please? im having a hard time figuring it out. i read my codes to gary at howell auto and he said that when the computer says the battery voltage is to high or low that it can cause other codes and sensors to act up. so i checked the voltage on the battery and while it was running i had 13.5 and with the key just to the on position i had 12.5 does this seem correct? i was told it needed to be at 13.8 while running so im not sure if that would cause my ecu to throw codes or not.

No you're fine on voltage. Like Paul asked you, was that your original ECU that Gary did? Or was it someone else's and he jsut used yours as a core for the pile.

Also, as Paul said, I'm suspicious about the battery temperature sensor or code 45. makes me wonder about the ECU that you are using.........

Hmm, also did you check to see if the voltage stops at 13.5? Does it keep going up as you rev the engine? Question of whether or not the regulator is working

oh i wasnt sure what he was asking sorry. it was not my original ecu, they had to find one since i still was using the one in my car. also i wasnt able to check the voltage and rev it, i only checked it at an idle because i was alone. code 45 is - EATX Controller Trouble Code Present. im not sure what that is

http://troublecodes.net/mitsu/

i was looking at this link for my codes and for code 42 there is 6 different things it says it could be.

so i checked my voltage just now and reved it up. it goes from 13.5v to 13.75-13.8v. i have had trouble keeping a steady idle (ever since i installed my motor it only has 2300 miles on it) when i let off the throttle, the rpms always drop down to about 400rpm (acts like it wants to die but it never does) and rise back up to about 900rpm but it did that with my stock ecu too. when it drops down my voltage goes around 12.8-13.0v then back to 13.5v when the idle comes back up.

Don't you have a 5sp? Even so, I suspect that there is something wrong with the ECU he pulled out of the pile

Your voltage is fine.

can anyone please point me in the direction of how to read these codes, on my 240sx there where 2 LED's on the ecu, red flashed the first digit, green the second, so two reds and 3 greens = 23

how does this work on the 96 eclipse gs?

its easy if you do a search on google and read it. but you turn over the key 3 times then leave it to the on position then it will start to flash. just like you said about your 240 but the cel will only flash on the dash. when it flashes 55 that means its the end of the cel codes.

2GNT.com -

check out that link.
