98 Eclipse GST something wrong

I have a 98 eclipse gst that I bought in January that had a bad starter, steering rack was shot, and the timing belt was a little lose, but the car ran fine otherwise. Took the entire cold air intake system out and lowered the engine to fix the timing, changed the steering rack and changed the starter. put it all back together and now it won't go past 4k RPMs. when it hits 4k it starts sputtering and tries to die, feels like the car lost all power. changed the plugs and wires and that helped a bit but still isn't right. the car had mods prior to me buying it and I can't get ahold of him for the list and being new to modding makes it harder, but it has upgraded fuel injectors, BOV, short throw shifter, stage 2 clutch off the top of my head....if anyone can think of something it would help alot.

can answer any question you ask about the car or put pics up.

Where is the CAS? sorry trying to learn alot as I go, the spark seems to be normal in all and the fuel is running lean, idk if that's normal or not

Ok, it was a huge boost leak, had a friend tighten a hose clamp next to the radiator and he didn't even put it on the pipe, just tightened it on the hose, although idk what the recommended boost is for the turbo but my brother in law crushed it a bit and it was hitting 20 lbs and I believe it was 15 before

ok, so I went through both sites and I will order the tester tomorrow, but I'm a bit unclear as to the safc ll, is it a chip?


The MAF is connected but do I need to reset something if I unplugged it while running?

A safc ll is a small computer like thing that you would have to wire into the ecm harness.

That link gives a good discription about the safc neo, but if you plan on building the car up decently big then i would suggest the DSMLink which has a lot better way of tuning

That's good to know, but things got worse. I tested it earlier and it was running fine then on my way back home I heard a kinda pop sound from what sounded like the BOV......then the oil light came on so I couldn't figure it out, checked the oil and it was fine......frustrated I drove it to work with the oil light on which kept flickering, but mostly off. then almost there it decided to just start jumping like it's about to die, I turned it off and looked through it, let it cool down about halfway tried turning it over and it was running fine again then got up to temp and died again, had my dad get there and we moved it someplace else and it was cold by then, tried again and it was running kept trying to die but looked like it was leaking exhaust bad into the engine bay, smelled like it was running rich too.
