97 Spyder GSt needs new exhaust. Which one though?

Hey guys. I was wondering if you could give some suggestions on which exhaust to put on my 97 spyder gst? I need a new cat back system. Wanna order one by tomorrow. Any help would be greatly appreciated! The car is not modded heavily and I do need to keep my cat due to emissions here. If you have a link to the exhaust you are suggesting that would be awesome.

it really depends on your personal preferences. i like a quiet exhaust that sounds good under throttle. im restricted by emissions where i live, too, but i just put my stock downpipe and cat on whenever i need to get inspected. i am currently running a 3" puishment-racing downpipe to a 2 3/4" stainless ebay exhaust (with factory flanges) bolted to my stock muffler. it sounds really good to me (kinda like a 350z/g35 but with turbo whistle). i would really like to get ahold of a factory 3g v6 muffler, but i havent come across one yet.

long into short - its up to you. get on youtube and listen to how different ones sound. youll get what you pay for. also, all fwd exhausts are the same, so dont worry about the spyder having fitment issues.

i just got apexi n1 turbo back exhaust and i love the sound.

I'm running the Greddy EVO 2 setup on the Spyder and it's not too bad. Keep in mind that I was running the stock cat back forever just because I hate the additional noise caused by a high performance exhaust.

This one isn't too bad and is much quieter and deeper than others that I have heard.

Does anybody have the Megan 3" cat back exhaust? Thats what I am looking at right now.

I was running the megan exhaust for a while, but I switched to the Apex'i N-1. I personally think it sounds better. the Apex'i is really nice, it bolts right on and has an adapter piece to attach to the stock cat. Road racing engineering makes a nice downpipe to use witht his exhaust. I pretty much used this as my set up apexi exhaust

My buddy with an IS300 gave me a Forza Tuning muffler. Its a 2.5 or 2.75 in and it has a 4in tip. I know typical ricer. (before you ask my fist fits in the tip) I went to a shop to do a cat back on my spyder but he said the pipe going in to the stock cat is really small. That true or is he just trying to sell me a full exhaust? You run in to that with your spyder? That why you went with just a catback.

i have the HKS TI-Carbon 3" catback exhaust and i love it i had an Apexi and loved it too on my GSX but hey i love the HKS Brand of you want to pay the price for one...

I have a 3inch Megan racing exhaust....love it. Not too loud...not to quiet. Nice dark tone to it. Installation was a cake...its complete bolt on except for the muffler. You have to unbolt a few things...for space...then rebolt. Took me less than an hour to do though.
