new engine? which one???

Ok so ive just kinda started to look down the road of getting a whole new engine for my car (96 talon tsi fwd) and i was just wondering what the best bang for the buck is. Im willing to put some extra money into it though. Not to long ago i just installed a t28 turbo and turbo back exhaust so those i want to keep. Im over the 100,000 mile mark about 101,000 and just starting to think ahead in case anything goes wrong. Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Do a compression and leakdown test and if there is nothing wrong I see no reason to get a new engine. That motor should be good for around 400whp and with the T28 your won't exceed that. For ease purposes though if you think your HAVE to get a new one just rebuild your motor you have now with some Eagle rods and Wiseco/Ross pistons. I would think about getting more supporting mods first though, DSMLink some 660's, cams, intercooler...your a ways off a new motor.

Rebuilding it would be best bang for the buck, unless that one is having other problems you really don't want to fool with. Get some forged stuff when you rebuild and don't worry bout it again.

Very good kits. Good for around 600hp. I would start with supporting mods first. Because you can always switch them from one motor to another.
