97 gsx leaking oil massively from left side of engine..

My car has been overheating on and off for the last week, as it needs a new water pump. The furthest I drive it is 1 mile and back from my girls house... now atfer doing this a few times, i just refill the radiator with antifreeze, but of course the problem is getting worse... anyways, today i bought the water pump and when i went to put it on, i noticed motor oil all over the top of the trans, and it appears to be spraying upwards based on the way it sits on my intake pipe and my UICP. The trans is covered in it and I cannot for the life of me find out where the leak is. After I got back from my short 2 mile drive i checked my oil and the car was bone dry. No oil leaking from any where else (oil pump, turbo lines -RRE SS, oil return) valve cover leaks a little, but nothing to worry about... where the hell is this leak coming from??! could i have cracked the block somehow driving it while overheating? Cuz I see no smoke coming out of the exhaust, no oil in the coolant, etc, and my car is running absolutely EXCELLENT otherwise... any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'll bet you that it's not a leak but rather oil from the breather hose has saturated the coupling and stuff. Just take your intake off and if you can see far enough in it, I'm willing to wager that the oil starts where the hose attaches to it. Just make yourself a oil catch can and you'll be good.

thank you so much for the reply! i was really worried about this mysterious oil leak.. im not too sure of the breather hose you are reffering to, but i will take my intake off and take a look.. you mean take the air filter off? or the entire intake into the turbo?

I think hes talking about the breather hose (from valve cover) that connects to the intake coming from the throttle body
