97 gst swap help!!!

Hello, I am a newbie to this forum and to the wonderful DSM machine. I have just bought a 1997 eclipse gst for 500 dollars. whats wrong with it you ask? well the engine has a serious knock. But to get to the point, I am about to trade a crappy 94 corolla for a 1996 rs five speed. Is it possible to swap out the hurt 4g63t with the engine in the rs which I think is a 420a. I would like to know if I can use the turbo and all other accesories with the 420a. Please help me out so I can continue my new love of the DSM world. thank you.

the answer is no. the parts from the motor in the car will not work on the 420a. your best bet is to find what is causing the knock and have that fixed instead of worrying about swaps and such. plus youll learn a lot by working on your car.

no. Sell the corolla or the RS and get a new 46g3.. or fix the existing one

It's not possible to swap the engine as the motor mounts are in different places.

once you have driven a 4g63 your not gonna want to drive a 420a. my first car was a rs eclipse and now i own a gst. and i will never go back to having a non turbo eclipse again.
