I bought this car 3 weeks ago and the motor was knocking bad. I put a built (new) motor in and hooked everything up and there is no spark on the right side coil. Everything that I can see is hooked up. I bought a new coil (came with both) and installed them. Still the same? Evan with one coil only working it starts really rough as expected, but it cuts all spark after 8 seconds or so, But it will start back up right away. The motor has 0 miles on it, it came out of a 97 gst. There is a CEL but I dont have a scan tool for a obd1 car. If you can think of anything let me no thanks! [email protected]

Mine was made in 12/94. Maybe 6 or 7 and above might have started obd2 but not 12/94 Sorry....
All 2G cars are OBDII. Along with VW, they were the first.
Got a manual and a multi-meter?

Production on 1995 2G DSM's started in June of 1994. Yours is from about halfway through the production year and is OBD II like all the rest of the '95 DSM's.

Check to make sure that the coil pack in question is good and that the power transistor is pulling it's side of the coil low.
