Hi guys, I am trying to change out my water pump and I keep running into problems, first I had to cut off the crankshaft pulley and now I cant get the engine mount bracket off in order to get the timing belt cover off.

If there is anybody that has encountered these problem before please let me know how you were able to overcome them.
Thanks,
Sonny

those bolts are torqued pretty good on there. are you using any PB blaster on them. i just put a pipe over my ratchet n wrenches to get more leverage and that did the trick.

Thanks for the reply, I have them all lose and I was able to get the top one out but the frame blocks the other two so the engine mount bracket wont come out.

Yeah, the engine wont go low enough to clear the frame rail. The bolts are about 6in long and the space between the engine mount bracket and the frame is only 2-3in.

Put a floor jack under the oil pan with a wood block on it so you don't puncture the oil pan. Raise the engine not lower. It will get high enough to clear the bolts along with the bracket. you will have to pull it out at one time not separate from the bolts.

Mitsu & Izuzu Shop tech.:rocks:

Just wondering but you did use the pulley puller to try and take that crank pulley off before you cut it off right because you can't just pull on it to take it off. And like said above jackets engine up from the oil pan but do not forget the wood block between the 2 hope it gets a little better for you. Always seems to be such a problem to do everything LOL

Thanks, wasn't sure if it was safe to lift the engine that high, I appreciate it, unfortunately I cut into the crankshaft and I still haven't removed the rest of the pulley so I don't know if im going to be able to save this one.

Yeah, I used a 3ton puller at first and it pulled through the pulley then I tried a 7ton then I tried to heat it and all that did was separate the two pulley halves.
Does anybody know anyone in San Diego that might be able to come look at it and or might want to buy my car for parts or to repair.
Thanks again guys for all your help.

Sucks you cut into the crank I've never seen one get stuck before, but then again everything else seems to get stuck on these cars. Hate that your gonna give up on it and sell it for parts, but that's your decision and if you want to do it go for it. Goodluck in whatever you decide to do.

Is there anybody in San Diego that would be interested in my Talon.
Just to recap its a 95 Eagle Talon 2.0 non-turbo, all systems are in working order. The main issue with the car is stated above in my posts, what is left of the crankshaft pulley is still seized onto the crankshaft and everything is removed in order to access the timing belt. It also has new tires that are less than 2000 miles old. Paint is shot.
I would like to get $500 out of it, please contact me ASAP as I am moving mid Oct.
Thanks,
Sonny
