I haven't had time to check it out as I noticed as I parked at work.
There was a rainbow sheen coming from the car, fast drips from behind the Tbelt next to the altinator. Looks like brownish water. Definitely not oil. Sheens gotta be from the engine being greesey.
I plan on searching through out the day but I need a quick answer so I can spend most of my tinker time "lunch" going and BUYING a pump and Tbelt if nessisary.
If you think it is the pump, Please explain how I can verify or if you think it's something else, Please elaborate. I have a 40 mile commute home so I'd rather deal with it while it's still ok. I'm in the military so tools and a shop are already at hand.
Thanks.

How to verify pull the timing cover off, and see more clearly, and follow vfaq for timing belt install, plenty of threads on the topic and how to do it.Look when you can.

so I got a better look, it was the water pump. I had the local parts place order me a new pump and a timing belt/pulley kit.
took everything apart, belt still looked new as did the pulleys (from previous owner) gonna change them anyway and keep the old ones for emergency back ups, they look that good LOL. well, my hydraulic tensioner pin snapped WTF so there's that...

Right now though, I can not for the life of me figure out how to get the old pump out. its unbolted, off the engine and it has basicly turned into one of those puzzles trying to get it out from between the engine and the frame. my guess is the engine shifted a bit on the jack after removing the mount? i didnt notice any movement but i dont know..
once i get this pump out, i can clean up and start reinstalling (aside from the tensioner of course) so if there are any tricks to this please let me know.

Yea it was the engine. Jack it up a little and it was out. Now the new pump is in. The balancer belt is in and I have the new hydraulic tensioner. But of course none of my pictures are good enough to figure out what it bolted to LOL googles not very clear either. Let the picture hunt begin! Lol

I figured out the tensioner. I feel dumb and gullible LOL the factory put the retaining pin in backwards so I just assumed.... Moving on..

Timing done! Now for the other belts

All done. Runs great! No leaks, no bent valves haha. The true test is driving it home. I did hit 5k in 1st here in the lot though. Beautiful.

Good to hear you got it taken care of!:rocks:

Yea or so I thought LOL the water pump is leaking now but not at the gasket, its at the rubber seal on the outer pipe part (discharge?) any easy way to get to it? Or am I taking it apart again? My DSM hasn't even taken me to dinner yet. No class LOL

You either have to take the turbo off and take the pipe off, or pull the timing belt back off. Way back when... I made the mistake of just jamming the seal in the water pump and installing it. I had to take it back apart and saw the groove on the water pipe the seal goes on. Not sure if that's what you did as well.

Dammit. Lol :ohdamn:

Might as well redo the whole thing over again. If you pull the turbo of. You have to remove the exhaust manifold. Remove all the lines on the turbo. I think removing the timing is easier. Just make sure you can put the grenade pin in and out once everything is placed back together. Proper tension for our dsm is when you can put the grenade pin in and out.

Ok so I was out of town for a week and forgot to update this.
I fixed the seals and got it together and drive it for over 250+ miles without an issue other than it running a little cold. Awesome! Or so I thought...
The DSM Fairy hit me in the face last night when I went to the store, as I left my house I heard a belt squeaking for about 20-30 seconds and then it went away. I figured it was moisture as I'm I'm Alabama And the humidity is in the 90s. Well 2 miles later I started overheating and when I parked, coolant was water falling from the water pump area. I had coolant in my car just for these situations so I got home just fine but it's frustrating. I'm gonna open it up tonight. I just don't know what happened. I need a new Daily driver LOL hard to save money when you own a DSM though! Lol
