Hey guys, Need some help on a few issues please. The first is that I just had a new clutch put in the car today after it has been sitting for over 6 months. Upon start-up, the engine would not even respond and when you turned the key to the off position there was some clicking sounds. The engine will start fine if you hot-wire it, just wont start with the key. Started just fine when i stopped driving it months ago the only difference is that I removed the cruise control motor. The second issue is that When driving and when you give it some WOT the car accelerates a little in any gear then just seems to just cut off the power. The person who had it before me installed an aftermarket BoV and boost controller and the boost gauge isn't working so I don't know what boost levels its hitting. The third problem is that there's a lot of white and dark smoke coming from the exhaust when driving. When checking the levels we noticed that it was bone dry of antifreeze so we added some but anybody's 2 cents would be highly appreciated! sorry for the long write up! thanks guys!

Let me know of any further detailed info that anyone needs and I will do my best to answer! :)

The anytifreeze and white smoke sounds like a blown headgasket. The key sounds almost like ignition switch is bad or your signal wire isnt hooked up to the starter solenoid.

Thanks for the replies guys I have a gut feelings it's a blown head gasket, but fear it could also be a blown turbo. I remember seeing traces of oil in the intake piping to the throttle body, although there wasn't any oil in the intercooler piping. I will start with a boost leak and compression test.

If it starts fine by hotwire, you need to look over the electrical system. You say it was sitting for 6 months? Guaranteed you have to swap the battery terminals, maybe the battery itself as well. Start fresh and check over all harness connections and fuses.. a new clutch requires you unplug about 4-5 harness connectors when you drop the tranny, I'm not sure which these are at the moment but make sure it was put back together properly. Me I also recommend adding an after market ground wire to chassis with minimum 4 gauge wire. A system is only as strong as its weakest link, dont let your ground be that weak link. It also helps if you decide to add a stereo system later as well.
