95 talon, tsi awd.. how important are the solenoids

Hey everyone. I just got a 95 eagle talon tsi awd.. the guy who had it before me spun a bearing on the old one. he dropped a jdm engine in it (7 bolt).. and hooked up most of everthing.. and he said he had it running.. after 3 days, i have finally managed to get it running, idling and reving up. Btw, the car say for 4 years.. now here is my problem.. Currently none of the solenoids are hooked up and minimal vac lines are hooked up. I am so unsure of where to start its not even funny. two of the solenoids( i think the evap and egr) , the nipples on them are broken off :/ The wastegate solenoid(I think it is it:/) is still in tact. this would be one of the most important ones right? The guy doesn't have the wastegate actuator bolted to the tubro.. it is hanging from the manifold at the moment.. I need to bold that to the turbo before hooking the vac line to it.. this is one of the more important i suppose? but the thing is.. the actuator is .. slightly waffled together.. like its not horrible.. but not sure if it still works. how do i test these things? (the actuator, and is it possible to test to see if solenoids are still working?) I found the diagrams for the vacuum lines... Also there are random connections coming off the wiring harness that go to nothing. i am so helpless at the moment LOL. I am a fast learner though.. ANY help would be appreciated. if you want, you can even call me.. 732 535 2358...

and thanks.. but will the solenoids make the car not run well:/

when starting the car... It barely idles at first... the belt sqeek's(even though i know its noty the belt, just not sure what it is) and MAYBE finally it idles down and it stops sqeeking.. and it idles to a point were i can rev it.. but this could take 20 minutes.. somethings not right. can i adjust anything on the throttle body at all? any ideas?

Okay.. So it also is miss firing.... badly.

can someone help me create a checklist of what could possibly be wrong?

I don't currently have the solenoids hooked up
the wastegate actuator is not actually bolted on.
any ideas?
