95 GST burning tons of oil out the exhaust

so i thought i would be a good friend and let a so called buddy borrow my DSM but he totally screwed me and the car. currently it doesnt run but before it broke down it was blowing massive amounts of oil out of the exhaust. pretty shitty for a rebuild with only 6k on it... any ideas? thanks

its weird the compression tested just fine and there was no oil in the intercooler pipes or j pipe, which would suggest the turbo seals arent blown. and it only smokes heavy out of the exhaust when you give it a moderate amount of gas. i hope it isnt the rings... any other ideas on checking it out?
