I have a 95 non-turbo eclipse and i was going down the road here the other day and when i pushed in the clutch the car died and then would not start. It cranks just does not start. I check my fuel pump relay and also the fuel pump to make sure it wasnt one of those and they tested fine. Checked most of the fuses under the drive dash and also in the engine bay, non of them were bad. I hooked a tester up to the coil plug that the spark plug wires hook into and do not get a reading anytime, key on, off, or even trying to crank. My thoughts were maybe it is the PCM??? That is the box that is the box that is in the front right of the engine bay, right?? anyways do you guys have any suggestions that i have not tried that might not be allow me to start the car?? Thanks

No transistor on the NT's.

Test the coilpack for proper resistance. If either primary or secondary windings give out of range measurments, replace the coilpack.

Inspect that the engine's wiring harnss has not shorted against the EGR recirculation pipe, under the induction pipe on the driver's side of the head.

Check for power to the coilpack, beween B+ (center pin) and ground when the key is in the on position. If there is no power, check that the ASD relay functions properly, and closes when it should.

If there is power to the coil, check for a switching current between pins 1 and B+, and between pins 3 and B+ on the harness while cranking.

If ground is not switching on one of the pin while cranking, test the cam sensor.

If ground is not switching on either, test the crank sensor.

If the crank and cam sensors have fluctuating output, and there is no switching ground from the ECU to the coil-pack, then suspect a faulty ECU. The ECU in 95's has been known to go bad. Swap ECU's with another of the same year and transmission type.

I dont get any voltage at the cam sensor what so ever. I found that i have a bad ASD relay but i jumpered around it and it gets me voltage to the coilpack just not to the cam sensor.
