hey my car wont start after dying its a 92 laser rs all stock except 16g turbo but i was getting on the freeway and it kinda jolted and sputtered then dyed now it wont start the plugs are screwed, and the wires wont make it much longer, theres alot of oil all over the engine the slots where the plugs go is filled with oil half way up to the plugs. im thinkin its the ignition pack because it'll turn over but wont fire so its electrical so if anyone has an idea what it is then please let me know soon thanks guys.

Replace vavle cover o ring gaskets to stop the oil leak. The coil is easy to test it simply stores power and when 1 power source is lost + or - th coil discharges the stored power so unplug your coil wire a + drop wire to the + on the coil (this is the wire that bridges to both coils) then connect a negitive drop wire to 1 coil wait a few seconds disconnect the + from the coil and it will discharge if the coil doesn't it is bad if it is good cheak the ecu to make sure the capsitor caps are not leaking if they have not been replaced dsms had a bad problem with the ecu

thank you but what happened is i pulled the #1 plug out, put it in the plug wire and turned it over then there was no spark at all.

"the slots where the plugs go is filled with oil half way up to the plugs. im thinkin its the ignition pack because it'll turn over but wont fire so its electrical so if anyone has an idea what it is then please let me know soon thanks guys." Why did this lead you to believe that the problem is electrical? If the plugs are swimming in oil is there any way they can create a spark? Definitely want to get that oil leak corrected and change the plugs and wires if you already know they are shot. Then check for spark again.
+1 to Blackjet, could also be the MPI fuse or relay itself, fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, etc. How long since the timing belt had been changed? You may have broken that or jumped teeth and ended up bending valves. Check the timing marks on the cam gears to make sure that you haven't jumped timing.

Replace the wires and plugs. Replace your valve cover gasket and spark plug gaskets, and if you really want to bee sure it won't leak, you can use some rtv. Make sure you get all that oil out of those plug holes too.

valve cover gasket = 25-30 bucks
spark plugs = 12-15 bucks
plug wires = no less than 60 bucks (cheap ones won't hold up)

So you're looking at around 100 bucks to get it running again. Hopefully that is the problem, but as I see it, you need to replace all of those anyway, and hopefully it's nothing more.
