95 AWD...3 different axles?!?!?!

Hi ya doin guys,

My 95 has been down for a few weeks now because i broke my right front axle. I also had to buy a new hub assembly because the axle was seized to it.

Anyway, after waiting 2WEEKS for my new axle to come in from napa (long story) I take it home and install it. Turns out, the axle I recieved is about an inch or 2 shorter than my original?!?!?! WHY!?!? The axle that was ordered was for my specifications. AWD, front right, ABS, MT...part number 6052

I then went and talked to some people at autozone, pepboys, and carquest..... part number 6052 they say!?!?!

Then I went to the dealer and give him my specifications. He says says he'll need the vin number because there are 3 DIFFERENT AXLES for them?!?!?!...but on top of that, he says it'll cost around $375!

I guess i have some odd axles....my car was made late 94....maybe its an early production car?

Is there any place i can get my axles cheaper than at the dealer?

The axel you are looking for is the lsd axel that has two splines.. You can order just the inner joint from them and swap out the wrong one with the right one. There should be three axels. just two different ones. Some time I wonder if the dealer know the ass from there face.

turns out they ordered the wrong axle again....

2g AWD, w/ ABS, MT Front Right...part # 6751 Front Left...part # 6750

this is at autozone, pepbodys, and napa.

The combinations of front axles are ABS/non-ABS and auto/manual - 4 in total, other than that they're the same.

OEM front axles are about $200-250, hubs around $100 from Josh@JNZ, or any of the discount Mitsu dealers - Tallahassee, Ft.Myers, etc.

Never dealt with Rockville, I don't know whether they're discounts are genuine or not.

There are a number of Mitsu dealers purporting to give discounts, when in actuality they are offering a 20% discount off a 30% marked up price.

A good place to check the going rate is http://www.mitsubishi-parts-dealer.com/ - so far their prices have fallen right in line with Josh, so any dealer's discount can be compared here. Typically the prices at Vachon are always cheaper when the order is place than they show up on their website.

Car quest or o'rielys life time is good enough for me, and since I work at a shop I get reembracment for warrnty work....woot!! ..and its ON me vechial..hahahhha..great huh?

They're genuine. They'll tell you MSRP and the Club DSM price. MSRP checks out with Bel Air Mitsubishi.
