Question, is the Eclipse sunroof exclusive to the car or does Mitsubishi make a standerd size sunroof for it's cars through a certain amount of time? I ask this because I'm going to start hitting up the local salvage yards to pull one off, too much moisture got in between the weather seal and glass frame, it's rusted pretty bad and leaking every so often. If I can just pull one off of a 95-99Mitsubishi opposed to looking for another Eclipse, it'd save me a helluva lot of time and effort.

Also, are there any other options someone can recommend... short of chopping my roof off (someone actually suggested I do that). Rather important because I'm in the middle of revamping the car's interior and body, but I dont want to do something a good downpour is going to ruin (I live in Miami). Any help is appreciated.

If you have the lights on the rear view mirror, then you probably have the stock sunroof and will have an easier time finding one. I have aftermarket, the dome lights are like the stock non-sunroof version. Good luck.

Keep the sunroof and replace your friends.

You'll do better if you think of the body as being a Chrysler. Avenger parts are often the same. I suspect the sunroof is, as well. Post back what you find.

i got my sunroof on ebay for 45 shipped. Came from an avenger. So yes widen your search and look for avenger sunroofs too.

from what i have seen all mitsu dodge and crystler sunroofs are the same i used one off a 300m know i know thats way off but it worked. also galant neon and all the above.

Ok... found the glass. Didnt take long to locate some potential doners but finding one that wasnt having the same problem I did, was a challenge. After sifting through several DSMs I wondered into the Chrysler section of the yard where I had a lot more luck.

Here are some shots of my original glass and the one I found... After I get a new seal I'll put up a "how to" of replacing a sunroof... though it's very easy with a 25 star head.

Quick fit-check install... 100%, other than needing a new seal, that is.

Hit a bit of a snag. Today I finally got around to getting the weather strip I need to replace the one I found on the donar. Didnt think it'd be that much of a bother but I was surprised to find out the darn thing is now going for over $100 from the dealer. I was a bit taken by this because 5 years ago when I bought it the first time, it was merely $30-$40... Im going to take my chances at the local chrysler dealership (went to mitsubishi) and hope its less because its "domestic". Is there another option or is this the standard price for rubber?
