94 Talon,96 Talon or 96 Eclipse

Ok, I have a choice between these car's. 94 Eagle Talon, 95, Eagle Talon, 96 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Now here's what I need to know which is the best car to upgrade to make it go fast as heck. And which over all do you think I should get? I was originally going to get the 94 talon but there wasnt much I could do for it look's wise and dint seem to beable to get it to go very fast unless i invested ton's of money which I dont have. So please help me out here! Thank's alot guy's/girl's for all your help! ? ?

94 Talon comes stock with a larger turbo, if that matters to ya....

I don't think that the 94 talon im getting has a turbo its an ESi i think dont only the TSi come with turbo's?

of the cars you listed are all ESI? or TSI? and the eclipse is is RS? GST? GSX?

in my opinion dont get any, only one of them is turbo and it's $16,000. I wouldnt buy someone elses project but it's a nice car to each his own hope i helped.

Ok well now it depends on various factors.. how much money do you have to spend? How do you jump from a 5k car to a 16k car? If you want to just buy a car and have it totally modded for you get the GST. If you want to mod yourself then don't get any of them and wait for a GSX or TSi AWD to show up. If you just want a ride then go with whatever you think looks better 1st gen or 2nd gen of the non turbos. That GST sounds like a mean machine and has tons of modifications... If you got the money and want instant results go with that. If you like doing the modifcation yourself and seeing your car grow.. wait for a GSX or Tsi AWD like i said. I got my 95 Tsi AWD for only 5k with 80k miles on it and it had just a few mods already (gave me plenty of room to grow) (and didnt drain my bank account).

Is there anything more I could do to the GST? Engine wise? Because im not good with engine's being im only 16 and wanted to mod the car to make it go kinda fast but i know nothing about car's. And if I would get the GST I would end up changing the outside look's totaly. Im so unsure on what to do. I mean im only 16 and my parent's said they would get me a car if I really wanted it but I had to pay them back every penny that they spent for the car.I mean i get paid 750 an hour at a Target in my location and make 375 every 2 week's with out taxes taken out. I mean if i got the GST every cent would go to it and then into the changing of the outside and interior of the car. Also even though none of these car's have a turbo in it other then the GST would I beable to put a turbo in the other one's?

Gosh there are a lot of AWD tsi's in your area.. those were only a few of the many I found under 6k dollars and less then 100k miles some pretty damn low.. i didnt even bother looking for eclipse GSX yet.

in your situation look at the links i gave you and do NOT buy that GS-T .. you will not be able to afford it if thats the way you are doing this. Just get a good GSX or Tsi AWD for under 6k with less then 100k miles and you will be happy. You can mod it if you want to go faster and mod it even more if its not enough. Point is you can put as much money into it as you feel is needed for YOU. You do not want to be sitting in a 16k debt getting paid 7.50 an hour..

Reason i looked for the Talons more then Elipse is that they are generally cheaper because of the badge on it. just means you paid a little more then .. it is the same car.

I know that there pretty much just the symbol difference but with the Talon's there are alot of after market part's that they dont make for them that they make for mitsubishi. I mean I wanna end up making a really nice car(performance and style) If you could look for the eclipse for me :laugh: Thank's your a great helP!

Talon = Eclipse.. its the same car different name.. parts are the same. A big16G turbo is the name one if its talon or eclipse. The only difference is normaly between 1st generation and 2nd generation as the 3rd generation eclipse is not a DSM.

i wish i was smarter before i bought my eclipse RS, i coulda gotten a TSi AWD for the same price with like 5-10k more miles :thumbdown dont get caught up in the mitsu over eagle stuff

David! I love you man! , You are a great help and I think you very much! I am going to look into getting one of those TSi's that you pointed out to me. Those I know I can afford and my parent's will definately get one of those for me cause I know I can pay that off. Also do you know the stock horsepower of the car's you listed for me? I looked at the Eclipse's and there all to expensive. So im going with one of those TSi's! Thank's alot bro! You just helped me make a great choice!

Stock HP for a 2nd Gen DSM turbo is 210hp to the crank.

also.. get a stick shift.. unless you really like automatic cars.. you will want a manual transmission. If you need help with starting to mod the care there is a nice tuning guide tab on the top of the page or i can give you links to a few others that i know of. Like I said.. you can make the car as fast as you want it. Just start with the right one so you don't kick yourself later for getting the Non turbo and wanting to go fast easy.

Please tell me that this hood will fit a 95 Eagle Talon TSi......http://www.visionautodynamics.com/interface.htm go here and then go to Mitsubishi eclipse and then go to 95 and go to hoods and at the bottom of the list there is a hood called the Invader its carbon fiber! Please Please pLease tell me this will fit the talon. I love this hood with a passion!

"babied never raced"...yeah the upgraded turbo is there for commuter support.


Any who, quite frankly I would go for a talon, I think they look nicer than eclipses after you switch out the front bumper.

The MAIN thing you are going to be missing on Talon exterior mods is crappy Altezzas, and body kits for the ass end of the car...although there is a extension kit for the talon rear.

Im so happy right now! I made the decision to get a great car thank's to david's help! and the hood that i've loved for a year now will fit my car. I cant wait to get this im going to try and get the Talon within the next 2 week's. And when i do i will post picture's of the car. Also David should I do engine work before I mod the exterior or do exterior first? Im thinkin engine and then look's what would you do?

Personally I prefer speed over style.. I have a thing with super nice looking cars that can't move when you press the gas. Each person is different on this question. You may want to do a few easy mods to help your speed a little before you start on exterior as it seems exterior work does cost more money then some bolt on speed mods.

Throw on a Blow off valve from a 1st gen DSM (2nd gen is plastic and leaks).. drop a performance air filter to get rid of the airbox (very restrictive).. get youself a manual boost control and mechanical boost gauge (the boost gauge you see on the stock car is only an estimate on PSI).. and you are on your way to unlocking your power. There are plenty of tuning guides out there to help with this part.

i agree with david on this one.. I had my spoiler taken off, the holes filled and the hatch repainted to make mine look MORE stock. Hondas never see it coming when they rev on my car.. debadged with a stock exhaust, they think they are running an esi.. until i launch on them!

Ha Denji that's great. Running a sleeper there. . I was planning to follow the tuning guid on the page to give my car some speed. I was going to do stage one. The only thing I want to do for style is get a body kit and a wing and rim's. And a nice paint job. And for interior just a few highlight's on the inside nothing to spectacular. But if i do ever come across the money I will definatly get a Qywhee's body kit for it. That kit is the sweetest thing ive ever seen.

Life has ended for me prematurly! My parents or anyone in my family wont loan me 5000 for a 95 Talon TSi AWD. I have no car. And no way of getting 5,000. Well i have a job but it would take ages. well it would take 30 weeks to make 5625 without taxes taken out. This is going to suck ass! Thanks for listening though!
