96 talon tranny

i found a 96 talon tsi with 130,000 miles on it for sale for $2300 .. full leather interior, sunroof, all that stuff.. body's in great shape.. good runner.. needs a transmission.. worth the money? my friend has a talon tsi and he said offer him $1900 for it and it would be a good deal and a transmission shouldn't cost me that much.. just looking for a few opinions

If its in good running condition and doesn't have any big issues i'd say its a good deal. Hell i'm crazy i well aware of that but i just paid $1500 for a shell. i'm missing a whole motor and tranny. But its up to you in the end if the body is in good shape and the car has been maintained you should have a rather decent deal goin for ya.

I would do what your friend said. offer him like 1800 or 1900. then go buy a shep racing tranny
