93 4g63t engine in 98 eagle talon

Hi, there's probably something about this somewhere but I can't seem to find the info I'm looking for. Well firstly I own a 1998 eagle talon everything original bu I blew the head gasket a year ago and decided to just swap a new engine in, this is where I have some questions. I bought a 1993 4g63t engine of an eagle talon with a 14b turbo on it already I hear that its diferent from the 91-92 engine , my main concern is what problems are me and my mecanic going to encounter with this swap we are almost there and he tells me some stuff won't go where its supposed to I need some experiance and wisdom if possible. I appreciate any help or info thank you.

The 91 to mid 92 are a 6 bolt. 93-97 is the old style 7 bolt. 98-99 is the new style 7 bolt. You would be downgrading in terms of reliability, but almost everything should bolt up fine. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/396298-1gb-7bolt-vs-2g-7-bolt-engine.html

A blown head-gasket isn't a serious repair that requires a new engine. Just need a new headgasket($30) and the head surfaced($50) plus couple misc other parts.
