Hi everyone ive got a question for you today. I have a egale talon 93 FWD ESI with a broken block , i am looking for a swap , or short block. For now ive only found a 2,4L mitsubishi spider swap and i wanted to know if i can fit that in bolten. If yes what do i need ? , do i need to change the wires and the computer ?

I also want to know if my 92 motor that i have in my car right now , the tranny , if it fits on the 2.4L , ive called everysigle garage , JDM everything , and no one could help me so you are my last chance.

If now that other swaps fit in bolten on my eagle talon.

By the way if anyone need pieces i have everything (turbo , intercooler , injector ect) that are not in use.

THANK-YOU for helping me. HAVE A NICE DAY !

I'm no expert... But

If your swap in is a 7bolt, then you'll need a 7bolt tranny (i think flywheel n housing?)

I don't remember if this syder only came gst or in gsx as well. But even then, if the previous owner did a fwd to awd, you have to consider that as well... 5spd to auto also.

Tell us the car the motor is coming from. History of mods as I mentioned above.

(if I am wrong, please steer me correct. Just trying to help.)

I am not 100% sure but if the spyder gs is like the rest of the 2g turbo cars, then no it won't work. The first gen cars have 3 engine mounts and one trans mount that hold the combo in the engine bay. On 2g cars, there are 3 mounts on the trans and one on the engine. So I'm thinking the 4g64 will not work. Find a frist generation 4g63 n/t engine. Also, with increasing the displacement from 2.0 to 2.4 liters, the fuel maps will be off in the car's ECU. That's another thing to think about. Another thing to think about is compression ratios. Unless you want to do some tuning, you'll need a non turbo 4g63 engine. The turbo engines have much lower compression.

Mine is a ESI FWD 6bolt i think. The 2,4L is FWD too and i dont know if its 6 or 7 ether.

Its a spider 2,4L GS none turbo i think these ones. In mine right now i have a 92 engine with a broken block , and im looking to put that up for streets , but cant find nothing where i live.

The bellhousings ARE NOT different, that was bad information. The transmission will bolt right up with the right flywheel. You will run into one problem though. There are no holes in the front of the block for the front roll stop mount to bolt to. You will only have 3 motor mounts instead of 4.

what will be the difference with 1 mount less ? will that work correctly ?
and you are realy serious there ? my tranny on my 92 swap in my 93 eagle talon will fit right on the 2.4L RS spider swap ? or i juste didnt read right .

And can i use my 92 computeur with the wires to put the 2.4L for street ?

It doesn't matter if the cars are fwd or not. I did a Google image search and did not see holes in the 4g64 block for the front engine mount. I also read on a couple other forums there are no holes for a front engine mount. So, the 4g64 engine must follow the path of a second generation DSM 7 bolt 4g63 as far as mounts go. Long story short, no, it won't work.

You can bolt the engine to the trans, but you'll have the one mount on the driver's side of the engine and one on the top of the trans holding them in. The engine will twist due to having no front and rear engine mount.

Yes, the spider engine will bolt right to your transmission. You will need a 7 bolt fwd flywheel. As far as the mount, i can't tell you 100 percent if just the rear mount is enough. You might look into poly mounts for the side and rear. The only thing bad that could happen is the mount bracket breaking (doubtful) or the bracket ripping out of the block which is more likely.

so for a short story , i would only have 2 mounts for the engine to hold in place ? will that be ok ?
and my tranny goes right bolt on with a 7 bolt flywheel ? and what about the computer ?

ive just called JDM montreal , he says i have a 6bolt tranny , and that the gs 2003 spider motor has a 7 bolt , so my tranny cant bolt on .. true ?
and what about my computer ?

i called JDM montreal and asked a couple of questions , first he told me i must have a 6bolt 92 in my eagle talon right now , the RS 2003 spider motor have 7 bolt , so my question how can i fit my tranny in the 2003 ?
and what about the computer and only 2 mounts to hold the motor in place ?

I was looking first for a short block 6 bolt because if im not an idiot , my 92 engine in my 93 body is 6 bolt , FWD , but i cant find nothing.

hi i want to swap a 2.4L spyder motor in my 93 eagle talon , i want to know if i can fit in my old tranny on my motor right now on the spyder one.

I also want to know what happends with the mounts and computer .

I want to know if i need to change it or not to make the swap , but my big question is , does my 92 tranny 6 bolt fit on the GS 2003 spyder 7 bolt motor.

some tel me to put a 7 bolt flywheel on a 6 bolt tranny , is that possible ?

others tel me there is only the side mounts that would hold the motor in place and that usualy there is 4 , what would happend with that .

Nowhere to mount the roll stops to the block.

One thread per topic per member, please. Merged.

If it is a 2000+ engine it isn't going to work right, the engine sits 180 degrees from the engine in your car. You could get it mounted to the transmission, but It won't have the spot to bolt the front of rear engine mount leaving you with no mounts on the front and rear.

So was there a need to make a second thread on the same thing when you already have one? Are you just looking for the answers that you want to hear?

Ok , no problem. Would that work anyway ? and what about my tranny question , 7bolt flywheel on 6 bolt tranny possible ? , and do i need to change the computeur to make the swap ?

Are you reading the replys in here? 2000+ block, no front or rear roll stop. So NO it will not work without custom fabrication to make roll stops. There is no difference in transmissions from a 6 bolt to 7 bolt, 1g are the same and 2g are the same, with a few minor changes between the years.

Please be cool , i didnt have the replies. Where can i have the custom suports ? , and to make it short the tranny goes right on ? (i have a 6bolt and the 2003 has a 7bolt usualy)

No 2 mounts isn't going to work, i already said that. To pay someone to make custom mounts you are going to spend a few hundred dollars at least, and you don't know if it will even hold. Also you do know that the intake ports will be in the front of the engine and the exhaust ports will be on the rear of the engine if you happen to bolt this into you 1g?
