92 rear brake pads on a 91?

Sorry, couldn't find anything by searching. I just got some brand new Hawk brake pads for a 92 given to me. Just wondering if the rear pads from a 92 will fit on a 91. I know that the 92's had dual piston calipers & the 91's have single-piston ones.

Any help would be appriciated.

Pop off the rim and the caliber and see if it fits. It should only take about five mins to get your answer

Only the front calipers are dual piston in the 2g's . I have a wrecked 92 with ABS in my back yard and the front and rear brakes are the same as my 90's.

They will work just fine. 90-94 rear brakes were all the same. Front brakes went to dual piston calipers in 93 on the awd.

I guess that must have been an option in 93. The guy I bought my parts car off is building a 93 AWD and his front's are single piston.

I have a 93 TSI AWD, my front calipers are dual piston. Rears are single.
Don't know if it was an option or not..
I thought earlier 1G's upgraded to the 93-94 breaks because they came with dual pistons? and maybe larger rotors..

Owners of all '89-92 DSMs and '93+ non-AWD models (including 2G) can upgrade to 'Big Brakes'. '91-92 Galant VR-4s and all '93+ AWD cars come with 'Big Brakes' from the factory.

NOTE: Early '89's (before 4/1/89) had smaller front brakes which were upgraded during the model year run. All '90-92 FWD and 90 AWD share the same calipers. The calipers for the '93-94 turbo FWD models were upgraded to the larger, thicker single-piston caliper design of the 91-92 AWD cars.
