92 Laser starts, but will not stay running

I bought a '92 Plymouth Laser AWD Turbo several weeks ago. It drove fine on the way home (about an hours drive). The guy I bought it from said the rings were going bad so he disconnected some vac lines so the turbo wouldn't boost and make them worse. I noticed on the way home it wouldn't rev above 4,000 rpms, but the day before when I took it for a test drive it ran fine. When I got home I parked it for a few days until I got time to work on it. When I finally got some free time I decided to take it out for a spin real quick. As I was pulling out into the street it kept dying on me and would take 2-3 cranks to start up. So I finally got it back in the driveway so I could check it out. I took all the IC hoses off and found oil in the compressor wheel of the turbo. Obviously since the guy disconnected the turbo vac lines it caused the turbo to overspin and lock up thus spewing oil into the intake. The intercooler had probably about a liter of oil in it.

So I replaced the turbo with another 14b from someone on dsmtrader.com and cleaned up all the intake hoses. Now when I start it up it won't stay cranked unless I give it a little gas. Once it drops down below 1,000 rpms it dies. I know there must have been a lot of oil that went into the combustion chamber, but would that cause it not to stay running? I've replaced the spark plugs also.

Could it be a vacuum leak or a boost leak?

Any help is much appreciated!
 
Boost leak test.
Check your plugs
ISC could be bad
MAF could be bad........

I'll stop there. We need more info. Do a boost leak test and get back to us.
 
Stupid people shouldn't own cars.

That honeycomb is there to stir up the air so the diode can read it.
Without it, it's much harder for the diode to read the air giving you bad readings to your ecu.

Replace the maf. :(
 
Yeah it's definately the MAF. I unplugged it and the car will actually idle now. I'm going to need to buy the recirc hose for the bov as well, cuz the ass was venting it.
